WHAT IS THE COST ? The basic 44 hour beginners course is $325.00 and private lesson rates are $25.00 per hour day / $30.00 per hour for night drives in our dual control, full sized Fabulous Zebracar. A reduced rate for insurance and State law requires this of teens 17 and under. This does not apply to those over 18. Adults may take hourly lessons or the full course.
WHO IS THE TEACHER ? A state certified instructor with over 120 hours of college coursework in Traffic Safety. In addition, the instructor has at least 10 years experience as a professional commercial driver and a safety record that shows a commitment to excellence.
WHY DO I NEED A PROFESSIONAL TO TEACH ME ? Nobody is better qualified to teach the skill of driving than someone who does it for a living. There is NO substitute in this endeavor. There is a reason Lawyers do not perform surgery. They are Doctors of law.Their expertise precludes success in an unfamiliar field YourFULL TIME instructor averages hundreds of miles in the car per week. A PART TIME instructor, driving a few miles per day is not enough to be up to the task in Driver Education in my opinion. Your safety is our responsibility, and the skill sets that a professional operator uses are the best place to start your driving education.
I AM AN EXPERIENCED DRIVER. WHAT CAN YOU TEACH ME ? No driver should ever stop learning. The driving environment is changing every day and that is a fact. As we age, health issues, Meds, and the aging process itself diminish our ability to drive at the level necessary to avoid conflicts with others and stationary objects. We offer Senior courses to minimize the effects of loss of hearing, sight and reflex.
HOW MANY HOURS DO I NEED TO BRUSH UP ON MY DRIVING ? Every driver has a different skill level. There is no set performance value required to drive. Your instructor will evaluate your individual ability and suggest a lesson plan. Then YOU will make the decision as to how many hours you want.
WILL THIS HELP MY INSURANCE RATE ? As a beginner it will help a great deal. Almost every insurance company offers a substantial rate reduction if a course is taken. As an experienced driver, each company has its own plan. More and more companies have realized that refresher courses keep claims down.Eventually this will translate into more companies offering discounted rates to experienced drivers for the same reason that they do to beginners who take classes.
